The eight pointed star or octogram has many meanings, religious, astrological and otherwise. It is a symbol of regeneration in the Christian religion as well as the Eightfold Path in the Buddhist tradition. Through its links with the great eight-fold systems of East and West, the trigrams of the I Ching, and the Pagan Wheel of the Year, it offers connotations of wholeness, rebirth and cyclical infinity.
